In India "Aasha" is a very common name for females. In Hindi language meaning of "Aasha" is "Hope". There is just another word in Hindi language which is “Nirasha”, which is just the opposite of the word "Aasha" & its dictionary meaning is "Disappointment". Now can you ever imagine that any parent shall give her daughter the name “Nirasha”!!!!!!!!!!! But here is a real case from India where a family gave their Girl Child, the name “Nirasha”. Though it is strange but the reason is very simple that in many of the families in India, a Girl Child is still an unwanted guest............Read below report published in
ExpressIndia which explains everything.
"Is a name a moment’s inspiration or a much-thought after affair? Well, the Delhi High Court recommends the second course of action. Hearing the case of a missing 13-year-old girl, a senior judge on the Bench was “shocked” on hearing the girl’s name—“Nirasha” (disappointment). The judge went on to express his reservations about her parents’ choice and was keen to know the reason behind it. As expected, the lawyer for the parents had an answer ready: “My Lord, she was their fifth daughter.” Isn't it strange that in India where people worship Goddess Luxmi, Durga, Kali, Saraswati etc. there is yet someone who names their Girl child “Nirasha” (disappointment).

Kerala state in India has the maximum litracy rate in the country but in this state a medical student commited suicide which was demonstrated online by the victim. He wanted to demonstrat to his girlfriend living in Delhi how a man could hang himself to death probably for the cause of love.
The biggest irony of the situation was that it was a medical student, doing his BDS, who set the precedent in this connection and stunned the world.
Keeping the web camera linked to his computer on, he hanged himself to death for the cause of love.
Was it the senseless deed of a jilted lover. No one knows, except the boy and the girl themselves. The police are trying to decipher it using the web camera and the computer left behind by him.
The death of V.S. Karthik, 21, a 2005 batch student of the Pariyaram Medical College, in a hostel room a couple of days ago, wasn’t just another incident of suicide going by the evidence available now.
A section of the media opted to publish it in the obituary page possibly on the ground that the bigger question of ethics of journalism was involved in reporting the death in detail.
It was on Friday evening that the body of Karthik was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his hostel room.
The recorded piece of conversation available from the computer recovered from his room by the police show that Karthik, an introvert who had not many friends in his classroom, used to chat regularly with his girlfriend in Delhi.
Incidentally, on Friday evening the conversation centred on suicide. There were some hurdles in the fulfilment of their love affair, i f the replies of the girl to the queries raised by the boy recorded in the computer were anything to go by.
What Karthik had been talking to the girl could be understood through the response of the girl.
As the chatting was confined itself to suicide the girl was heard pleading with him not to take recourse to the extreme step. Minutes later, Karthik was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his room.
Possibly the girl could be helplessly watching it all on her computer screen as the web camera kept in Karthik’s room was focused on the ceiling fan from which his body was found hanging the next day.
The police made no attempt either to question Karthik’s girl-friend or to find out what she had seen on the computer screen that evening, although her response to what he had been asking for and talking about was recorded in his computer.
“No doubt, it is a case of suicide, but we aren’t sure how the girl would react if we go ahead with the probe and we can’t be instrumental in causing another such act” said a senior police official who refused to be identified.

Forest officials in India are trying out a new way of controlling their monkey infestation-a park.
This primate protection park in India's northern Himachal Pradesh is made to house more than 2,000 Simian monkeys in hopes of keeping a controlled eye on the population. In the last three years, studies have shown that the monkey population has grown by 50 percent. The people of Himachal Pradesh say the Simian monkeys are a menace.
There are around 375,000 of them and most of them live in the state's towns and villages where they eat the crops and attack humans.
The authorities were getting fed up with the monkeys so the wildlife conservators came up with the plan for a large park that will not only protect the monkeys but humans too.
"We will catch them from there and bring them to Tutikandi sterilization centre. We will sterilize them and release them back here and will keep on feeding them here," said Nagesh Guleria, Deputy Conservator, and Wildlife Wing.
Farmers are very happy because their crops will not be eaten.
"These monkeys ruin our crops and once they start getting proper food in this park, hopefully they won't venture into our fields anymore which will be very good for us,” said Puran Thakur, a farmer.
The Simians are revered by Hindus across India as the incarnation of the monkey-face god Hanuman.
Even though the monkeys are of religious importance, their overwhelming presence it’s still hard for the locals.

Lalu Prasad loves his cattle. So do the MLAs of Lalu’s RJD.
Proof? They today travelled to Bihar Assembly on a bullock-cart “driven” by former minister Rajesh Singh. Goal: to highlight the “plight” of farmers in the state.
The sight of Singh and RJD MLAs Bimla Bharti, Akhtar-ul-Imam and Babloo Dev standing on the cart with sugarcane sticks in their hands drew everyone’s attention, as they entered the Assembly premises around 11am.
Earlier, the MLAs defied security personnel’s request and entered the House premises through the main gate. Other RJD members, including former minister Gajendra Singh, joined the rest of the group on the cart as it headed towards the House portico.
BJP member Bhola Singh requested the Speaker Uday Narain Choudhary for a ruling on the matter. “Today, they (RJD) came in a bullock cart. "There is a belief in our culture that sacrifice of animals appease our god and it also helps in warding off the evil spirit," said Putkar Hembrom, a tribal priest.
He said: "It seems that India is under the shadow of evil sprit. India manages to reach to the finals in cricket but loses the final match".
The tribals prayed to god, put vermilion on the head of the chicken and lit incense sticks. After praying to god, they sacrificed the chicken. "We hope India will trounce Australia in the final match," said Soma Munda, another tribal priest.
The tribals also feel that Dhoni committed a mistake by changing his hairstyle.
"Dhoni's power and concentration came from his long hair. Dhoni should not have got his hair cut," said Sohrai Oraon, a tribal.
As two more matches of Cricket finals between India & Australia still remains so it seems more hens shall lose their lives in sacrifice...........How weird!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sixty chefs cooked a rice dish weighing 13 tonnes in a bid to enter the Guinness Book of World Records, organisers said.
Three cranes dumped 3,000kg of Basmati rice, 85kg of chilli peppers, 1,200 litres of oil and 3,650kg of vegetables into a giant vat at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi in the presence of a Guinness observer.
The steel vat was mounted on a 3ft-high furnace while the chefs clad in fire-resistant outfits perched on a platform to stir the biryani with oar-like ladles.
The cooks threw a pinch of salt weighing 86kg into the 16ft-deep steel vat, organiser Gurnam Arora said.
The sponsors used a hose to pour 6,000 litres of water into the vat and sprinkled 10kg of exotic spices and aromatic condiments to prepare the tangy biryani, Arora said.
This is a great activity to revive the feasting and celebration tradition associated with biryani in India, New Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit said.
Kaoru Ishikawa, a records manager from the British-based Guinness Book of World Records who was on hand for the 10-hour cooking session, said here to certify them for preparing the world's largest biryani weighing around 13,000kg, Ishikawa said. Official recognition of the record is expected later in the year.
The dish would be divided and sent to city orphanages once Ishikawa certified the weighing of the cooked biryani, garnished with carrots and 750kg of creamy yogurt, Arora said.
This event is a one-of-a-kind endeavour unmatched by any other past culinary activity, Arora said to the cheers of hundreds of spectators.
Currently, there is no listing for the largest biriyani in the Guinness Book of World Records, Arora said.
It's a unique event, remarked Sushil Kapoor, one of the cooks. It's not easy to cook such a large amount of biryani. We started in the morning. We enjoyed doing it.
While the cooking was in progress at one side of the stadium, a cultural show was on at the other side to entertain the audience.
We were hoping that the biryani would be non-vegetarian but although it's not, we are excited to taste it anyway, said Abhinav Garg, who had come with his friends to watch the unique event.
Shambhavi Sharma, however, was more excited just to see the cooking in progress.
I have never seen such a big vessel...and the way the crane was lowering the vegetables, it was fantastic! I had come to watch the cooking and I must say it's impressive.
