80-yr-old gets jail term for Rs 45 bribe

Patna: Justice delayed is justice denied, they say. For taking a bribe of Rs 45 nearly 30 years ago, Mahendranath Mastana has to spend one year in jail now when he is 80-plus.

Bribery Drama in Indian Parliament

Picture: In Indian Parliament BJP MPs show the packets of money they have been allegedly bribed to switch sides.

NEW DELHI: Three BJP MPs produced wads of cash in the Lok Sabha, offered to them allegedly by Samajwadi Party to abstain from voting during the confidence motion.

The MPs alleged that the money, Rs 1 crore (US$ 2,34,330), was given to them as bribe by SP general secretary Amar Singh to bail out the UPA government. Full deal was for Rs 9 crore (US$ 2.1 Million) while Rs 1 crore (US$ 2,34,330) was given as advance in cash.

Certainly today 22/07/2008 shall go down in Indian history as the most shameful day of Indian Politics when millions of people saw all this shameful political drama all across India & World live on Television.

Bribe that India's poor paid

As per one Zee News report the level of corruption is "alarming" in Indian states of Assam, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, says a new survey based on experience of Below Poverty Line (BPL) households in availing various public services last year.

The 'India Corruption Study 2007', brought out by NGOs Transparency International India (TII) and Centre for Media Studies (CMS), found that about one-third of Below Poverty Line (BPL) households in the country bribed officials to avail a total of 11 services -- from police to PDS.

According to the survey, which covered 22,728 households in all states and Union Territories, Rs 8,830 million, in all, was estimated to be paid as bribe by BPL households last year. Read more here........................`India`s poor paid over Rs 8000 mn as bribe in 2007`

After 18 yrs, Cop punished for taking Rs 250 bribe

Bribe is Official now!!!!!

Bribe is official now at least with Municipal Corporation of Ghaziabad (MCG) in Uttar Pradesh State of India. Over here MCG has institutionalize the corruption as it was unable to check the corruption.

Isn't it weird that, MCG is now officially accepting bribes paid through cheques ( Pay orders) that would otherwise have gone into the pockets of its officials. Read more.......A municipality that officially takes bribes!

4 Cops held for taking half dollar bribe

Four policemen were arrested near Chandigarh in northern India here for taking a bribe of Indian Rs 20 (US$ 0.5) only.

As per one report, head constable Darshan Singh and constable Jasbir Singh of PCR 88 and head constable Darshan Singh and constable Jaspal Singh of PCR 89 were nabbed red-handed at Ladowal near Chandigarh.

Cops were taking the bribe from a truck driver, Surjit Singh of Moga of Punjab state of India when they were arrested by Sahnewal DSP Balraj Singh who was passing by.
