A ration card in the name of Mahatma Gandhi!

Believe it or not - the authorities in Andhra Pradesh have issued a ration card in the name of Mahatma Gandhi along with his picture!

What is more shocking is that the card named Nathuram Godse, the killer of Mahatma Gandhi, as his father. Godse, however, has been misspelt as Godsay.

Mahatma Gandhi, was a major political and spiritual leader of India and the Indian independence movement. He was born on 2 October 1869 & was shot dead by a Hindu fanatic on 30 January 1948. Though around 60 years have passed since he passed away, here is an interesting episode in which "State Bank of India" in a letter sent at his "Sabarmati Ashram" asked Mahatma Gandhi for a pre-examination training program for a Bank Exam!!!!!!!!!

This was no case of snail mail. The letter was from State Bank of India's central recruitment and promotion department in Mumbai asking Mahatma Gandhi to report for this training camp for bank clerks at AG Teacher's college in Navrangpura between June 16-21. Man strips to get Provident Fund money

In Ahmedabad city in Gujarat state of India, a 41-year-old man, tired of running from pillar to post for his provident fund (PF), took Gandhigiri to new heights. Just like a character in a Hindi blockbuster movie "Lage Raho Munnabhai", he stripped in the PF office at Akota to register his protest. The ploy worked. For students and teachers of a few departments of Punjab University in Chandigarh, it was a different day when they encountered an 'Americanised' version of the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

When peace activist Bernie Meyer, dhoti clad, bespectacled and with a stick - just like Mahatma Gandhi - walked through the corridors of the arts block of the campus here, scores of teachers and students came out to greet him.
