'Dead' boy along with girlfriend lands at police station

Muzaffarnagar (UP): In a sensational twist to the suspected honour killing case, a college student, who was reportedly killed by the brother of his girlfriend, and her beloved landed at a police station here this evening.

Catching the cops off-guard, both Ajit Saini, a student of Business Administration, and his girlfriend Anshu, who was missing, surfaced at the police station, SP Rajiv Malhotra told PTI. The two were being interrogated at the police station, he said.

Short Mayawati demands taller Statue

LUCKNOW, India - She may be diminutive, but the fiery leader of India's most populous state has no patience for short statues of herself.

Mayawati, the 5-foot tall chief minister of the northern India state of Uttar Pradesh, ordered officials to replace a 12-foot bronze statue of herself with a larger one because it was 3 feet shorter than nearby statues of other leaders.

Monkey God becomes Chairman of Indian Business School

His name is Lord Hanuman. In India He's a revered Hindu monkey god. And now, he's the Chairman of an Indian Business School.

Hanuman, the popular Hindu God known for his strength and valor, has been named official chairman of the recently opened Sardar Bhagat Singh College of Technology and Management in northern India, as per a school official.

The position comes with an incense-filled office, a desk and a laptop computer. Four chairs will be placed facing the empty seat reserved for the chairman and all visitors must enter the office barefoot, said Vivek Kangdi, the school's vice chairman.

A man has allegedly chopped off his wife's nose in village Nahal near Aliagrh in Uttar Pradesh state of India, the police said today.

Naresh committed the act yesterday following a dispute with his wife Sonam, who escaped from her husband's house with the help of neighbours who came to her rescue.
