Molester told to organise feast as punishment

Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh): Defying the law, a village panchayat here dealt in its own way with a molester -- it ordered him to organise a feast for the villagers as his punishment, police said.

But the accused was later arrested as the disappointed victim approached the police to seek justice.

The order was pronounced March 13 by the panchayat of Kapsa village on a complaint by a 45-year-old widow, who had accused one Ram Bahadur, a native of the same village, of molesting her. Read More................Molester told to organise feast as punishment

Student's hair cut as punishment

In another case of extreme punishment, a teacher in Maharashtra has chopped off a male student's hair.

The teacher at Karnala High School in Panvel was reportedly angry because the student's shirt was not completely buttoned up. The boy was a Class 9 student.

A case has been registered with the Panvel police against the teacher. "We saw the way our son had been humiliated, his shirt was torn, hair cut, the wounds to his face. Girl branded for not doing homework

In an outrageous incident, a nine-year-old girl, Kuntal Pandhare of Akurdi Pradhikaran, was allegedly branded with a red-hot steel kitchen fork by her private tutors for failing to do her geography homework.

Students ate Noodles as punishment

In Pune city in Maharashtra state of India several students of St Helena's school complained of stomach pain and dysentry after the school's hostel authorities allegedly forced them to eat fast-food noodles only for breakfast, lunch and dinner over the last three days as a punitive measure.

Temple service as punishment for Murder

He is just 15-year-old & is convicted of murdering a minor. A juvenile court in Bihar state of India has ordered him to do community service at a temple every day for six months.

Mantan Kumar alias Vishwajit Singh, who killed five-year-old Puja Kumari Dec 10, 2002 and concealed her body in a field, was awarded the punishment by the Juvenile Justice Board here.

"He started doing community service at the Mahavir temple Friday," said Kishore Kunal, secretary of the shrine located near the Patna railway station.

The court had also ordered that Rs.10,000 be paid to the victim's family.

While Mantan will work at the temple from morning till evening, he will continue to stay with his parents.

Mantan has already served over four years in prison after he was found guilty of rape and murder.

According to Kunal, Mantan will clean the temple floor, look after the shoe stand and distribute food to beggars and the poor.
