"Barack Obama", do you have a toilet in your home??? Oh!!! sorry, I am an Indian & I think you live in America & this rule is going to be applicable in India only & not in America. O.K. you can go out in open if you want to!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, Jokes apart, In many parts of India having a toilet at home is still considered unhygienic in rural areas, leading to defecation in fields and open spaces.
The political class too is not above such practice in villages. And what better way to spread the message of hygiene than making it compulsory for a candidate to have a toilet at his residence?
The state government of Maharashtra in India is planning a legislation to disqualify candidates from contesting any elections if they don't have toilet facilities in their residences.
In an effort to strengthen the sanitation campaign, chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has taken keen interest to bring in a law banning candidates from contesting elections if they don't have toilet facilities in their homes, Mallinath Kalshetti, state co-ordinator of the total sanitation campaign, said on Thursday. Astrologers feel the wrath of the Saturn is best avoided as it brings about a terrible phase in your life which lasts for either two and a half years, or, if you are very unlucky, for seven and a half years.

Gandhi Mandir priest Balaram Markam said: “The newspapers are eye-openers, create awareness, remain watchful of the evils and crimes in society, inculcate human values and prevent people from committing wrongs.”

Our earlier post describes in detail that
"Tirupati Balaji' is the Richest God in the world". Now here is more about that Richie Rich Lord who actually sits on a Goldmine. This temple of "Lord Venkateshwara" is in the town of Chittor District of Andhra Pradesh in India & is located in the foot hills of Tirumala.
As per one
report:
Currently there are nearly 11 tonnes (11,000 kgs) of Gold ornaments and vessels in Lord Venkateswara possession ( Actually with the trust which runs temple of Lord Venkateshwara in the foot hills of Tirumala). The administration maintains 19 records to register the accounts of these jewels, vessels and precious items.
Gifting precious and dazzling jewels to Lord started with the Pallavas almost 1400 years ago which was latter followed by Pandyas, Cholas, Vijayanagara rulers. Among Vijayanagara rulers, emperor Sri Krishna Devaraya alone offered a huge chunk of diamonds and gold offerings during his seven-times visit to Tirumala along with his wives, Tirumala Devi and Chinna Devi.
The most exquisite and precious among the riches of Lord is the “Vajra Kireetam” the diamond crown which was designed by TTD in 1986. This was the third on in the crown series of the Lord which was prepared at a cost of Rs 5.73 crore using 28,369 diamonds of high quality and 26 kgs of “aparanji” (pure) gold. The entire weight of the kireetam is about 13.36 kgs. As per current bullion rates, the crown might cost over Rs 50 crore.
Read more of the report at Economic Times.........................
Lord Venkateswara: Richie Rich Lord sits on a goldmine *** Dear Readers: I too once visited the "Tirupati Balaji" temple at Tirumala. In fact there was a large white colored big cotton bag which was hanging in the temple premises, in which people were putting their donations. It is said that many times visiting women just take out all their gold ornaments they are wearing & just put these gold ornaments in the cotton bag out of their devotion to the Lord. Many men just put bundles of currency notes in the bag. There were many rooms which were visible to the visitors, in which many men were just counting the currency notes put in the bag as offering to the Lord & interestingly all these men counting the notes were monitored through a Close TV Circuit Cameras in a control room which was monitored by a man so that a strict vigil can be there on persons counting the currency notes!!!!!!!!!!!! Now you can understand the devotion of people to the "Lord Venkateswara" in India & how He has become the Richie Rich God of the world.

"Swayamvar" in ancient India was a practice of choosing a life partner from among a list of suitors by a girl of marriageable age.
In this practice, the girl's father decides to conduct the Swayamvara of the daughter at an auspicious time and venue, and broadcasts the news of this to the outside world. Kings, typically, used to send messengers to outside lands whereas commoners arranged to spread the news within the local community.
A poverty-hit tribal girl accepted a youth as her groom on Tuesday night at a gathering of about 15,000 persons in a remote Chhattisgarh village at the first ever 'Swayamvar' in the state in decades.
Bride's father Ramratan Thakur, a highly religious person, had announced at least a month ago to marry off his daughter to a youth who would successfully reply to questions related to the creation of human beings.
The long wait of thousands of people, who assembled in an open ground at the village, ended around 10 p.m. when a tribal youth Ghanaram successfully answered a question "Panchtatva rachi adham sharira, chhiti jal pawak gagan sameera" (The body is made of five elements - earth, water, air, space, fire).

This crafty burglar named Balaraman from Chennai in Tamil Nadu state of India stands out for his style. He's not the kind who breaks into a house and snatches what he can. Lazy some may call it, but Balaraman likes to spend five to six hours inside a house, looting it inch by inch.
This burglar, after his job is done raids the kitchen for food. "I do not like hotel food. I hate it. In ‘my’ houses I used to come across good food, delicious and sumptuous," he once told a counsellor.
As per Balaraman he was forced to commit burglaries by none other than his wife.
"Used to a luxurious lifestyle, she found my income from carpentry too small. Any criminal gets caught only once in every three or four ventures. So once the spoils of two or three burglaries reach my wife, I am mentally prepared for a spell in prison when I venture out for the third or fourth raid," he says.
