New Delhi: Wearing a revealing dress during her honeymoon proved costly for a woman as a court granted divorce to her husband saying improper dressing by the woman brought mental cruelty to the man.

"Cruelty includes not only physical but mental cruelty as well. Ostensibly, she (wife) has indulged in bloating falsehood beyond proportions," Additional District Judge Manmohan Sharma ruled, accepting the husband's plea that he suffered mental agony due to his wife wearing "vulgar" dresses regularly since their honeymoon. New Delhi, Jan 13 (IANS) After a three-decade-long legal battle, a man, who is now 85, finally got divorce with the Delhi High Court Thursday rejecting his wife's appeal challenging a lower court order. The court voiced anguish over the slow process of justice that prevented the couple from starting their lives afresh.

Upholding the decision of the trial court, which granted the divorce to 85-year-old J.M. Kohli in 1994, Justice Kailash Gambhir said it should be the endeavour of the courts to expeditiously decide these matters so that people involved can start their lives anew. • The divorce petition filed by husband Sanjay Sinha said, “Despite several requests, my wife does not wear modern lifestyle clothes. I just can’t bear the comments from my friends that my wife is not stylish.”
• Last year, a man dragged his wife to the Delhi High Court after the session’s court rejected his divorce petition calling the reason invalid. The man had filed for divorce because of what he called his wife’s arrogance. She had refused to serve tea to his friend and a quarrel ensued.
• Husbands often allege that spouses do not have table manners or do not interact with colleagues or refuse to drink at parties.
• Manisha Jha, a lawyer who deals with marital disputes recalls that a wife who once filed for divorce from her husband after six months of marriage alleged that he neglected her and spent more time in office.

As per one Star TV channel report, here is a couple who have been married for 65 years & in a fit of anger, husband said three words "Talaq, Talaq, Talaq" to his wife & lo they were separated from each other. Here is Rahmani, aged 83 from Kaushmbhi in Utter Pradesh state of India who in a fit of anger said three words to his wife Hayatun & they are separated from each other. Though Rahmani is feeling remorse at saying these words to his old wife but as per Muslim law divorce has happened.

Now the only way out for them to get together again is that his wife marries again with someone else & that person divorces Hayatun, only then they can get married again. But who will marry this old lady at this age!!!!!!!! So if you are a muslim, then for God's sake don't say 'Divorce' if you are in a fit of anger, as otherwise you had it, as you shall in actual get the 'Divorce'.

After 53 yrs, 80-yr-old seeks divorce

He has lived with her for 53 years, he is 80-year-old & now he is seeking divorce from his wife. As per Budheshwar Shukla from Kanpur city in Uttar Pradesh State of India, he is fed up with the married life and he has filed a divorce case last week. He has alleged that his wife Rani Devi, 71, torture him physically and mentally.

Couple had married in 1954 & as per Mr. Budheshwar, their whole married life of 53 years was never an easy one & there were always conflicts in it.

As per Mr. Shukla, he has faced four operations and can not stand the alleged atrocities of his wife any further.

Couple is blessed with two daughters and a son & all are married.

'Divorce' says Drunk Muslim & Lo it Happens

Exactly that has happened to Mohammed Mokhtar who was forcibly separated from his wife Sakina Khatoon and their children when he uttered 'Divorce' in a drunk condition. Incident happened in Parbodhi village near Hajipur in Vaishali district of Bihar State in India.
