Tomb of a Dog / 'Kutha Ka Qabr'

Subscribe to Weird India Subscribe to Weird India in MY YAHOO! Subscribe to Weird India in MY GOOGLE! Subscribe to Weird India in MY MSN! Subscribe to Weird India in MY AOL! Subscribe to Weird India in Rojo!

In Indian history, it was very common for Muslim rulers to raise tombs for themselves and also for their relatives but a tomb for a dog is something many would not have come across & may find it weird.

But here in Bidar in Karnataka state of India which is bestowed with many such magnificent tombs belonging to the rulers of the erstwhile Bahmani and Barid Shahi dynasties, there lies a "Kutha Ka Qabr" or "Tomb of a Dog", which is a small tomb dedicated to a devoted dog, which was killed by its master unknowingly.

This tomb of the dog has not got its due owing to the significance attached to the tombs of great rulers of the dynasties which ruled Bidar.

The tomb of the dog is located to the west of Ibrahim Barid’s tomb in the city. Ibrahim Barid was a ruler of Barid dynasty.

A Karnataka Tourism booklet says there is history behind the tomb. The booklet adds that a devoted dog saved the life of its master but was killed by its master under the mistaken impression that it had harmed his friend.

Later, learning about the dog’s devotion to him, the Muslim master raised a tomb over its grave. Read more.......In remembrance of a devoted pet

As per one Star TV channel report, here is a couple who have been married for 65 years & in a fit of anger, husband said three words "Talaq, Talaq, Talaq" to his wife & lo they were separated from each other. Here is Rahmani, aged 83 from Kaushmbhi in Utter Pradesh state of India who in a fit of anger said three words to his wife Hayatun & they are separated from each other. Though Rahmani is feeling remorse at saying these words to his old wife but as per Muslim law divorce has happened.

Now the only way out for them to get together again is that his wife marries again with someone else & that person divorces Hayatun, only then they can get married again. But who will marry this old lady at this age!!!!!!!! So if you are a muslim, then for God's sake don't say 'Divorce' if you are in a fit of anger, as otherwise you had it, as you shall in actual get the 'Divorce'.

Indian Pop Star appears in Burqa

Himesh Reshammiya, is an Indian Pop Star who also composes Bollywood music & has given 36 hit songs in one year. Recently he has also appeared in his first film, " Aap Ka Suroor" which released today to the audiences.

It seems that to get publicity for his first film he has apparently caused a furor after dressing in black burqa while visiting a Muslim Shrine.

As per Reshammiya, he dressed in burqa to avoid being mobbed by his fans, while seeking blessing for his new film.

Although an official at said shrine suggested that Reshammiya dress in the burqa, the president of the shrine, Peerzada Sibli Qasim said that the star was "ridiculing Muslin religious tradition".

Singer-turned-actor Himesh Reshammiya apologized for offending religious sentiments after visiting a Muslim Sufi shrine disguised in a burqa.

``If I have committed a mistake, I apologize for it,'' he told reporters outside a shrine dedicated to a mystic Islamic Sufi saint in Rajasthan.

Reshammiya, who is a Hindu, had gone to the shrine of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti to seek blessings for his debut feature film ``Aap ka Suroor,''. But huge crowds gathered in front of the shrine to watch him and he wasn't able to enter the shrine, the report said.

A Mysterious Village of the Deaf

Subscribe to Weird India Subscribe to Weird India in MY YAHOO! Subscribe to Weird India in MY GOOGLE! Subscribe to Weird India in MY MSN! Subscribe to Weird India in MY AOL! Subscribe to Weird India in Rojo!
In Jharkhand state of India here is a village which has produced people who are hard of hearing. In the Muslim-dominated Jhumarvad village of Deogarh district, about 350 km from Ranchi, the problem has mysteriously persisted for decades.

Shakeel Ahmad, a resident, said: "I have three sons and two of them are hard of hearing. We are unable to understand why the people of this village face a hearing problem."

"Even treatment makes no impact on us," he said. Ahmad pointed out that there was hardly a house in the village without at least one hearing impaired.

The problem has refused to go away & Doctors are somewhat baffled.

Manish Kumar, an ENT specialist, said: "The disease might have resulted from some food habit or absence of the hearing vein. It can also be a reaction to medicines or injury in the ear. But the exact reason can be known only after investigating the villagers and studying their medical history."

Village, where so many 'Saddam Hussein' live

Subscribe to Weird India Subscribe to Weird India in MY YAHOO! Subscribe to Weird India in MY GOOGLE! Subscribe to Weird India in MY MSN! Subscribe to Weird India in MY AOL! Subscribe to Weird India in Rojo!

Have you ever imagined a village where many people name their sons as Saddam Hussein? Yes, as per a BBC report , In India, there is a village called Lakhanow in Bihar state of India, where most of the people are Sunni Muslims & people over there, virtually adore Saddam Hussein. In this village there are more than 20 children who have been named Saddam Hussein & in another 27 adjoining villages over there, more than 100 Saddam Husseins are there. There is even a family over there with one son called Saddam Hussein and a younger sibling called Osama Bin Laden.

After the much photographed execution of the Iraqi leader, the villagers of Lakhanow have decided to name all the new born baby boys after Saddam Hussein. As per the villagers, this is their way to pay tribute to their leader, they adore the most. They want to carry on his legacy at least in their village.

As per one local leader Ayub Khan, 'God willing one day our village will be full of Saddam Husseins." "George Bush can hang one Saddam Hussein but we will create an army of Saddam Husseins. Let him come to our village and see how Saddam Hussein can never be executed.'

But there is one problem in having so many Saddam Husseins, says villager Mohammed Hassan Abbas.'In the playground we have Saddam Hussein running after Saddam Hussein, behind Saddam Hussein who is ahead of Saddam Hussein but too far from Saddam Hussein... it can all get a little confusing,' he said.
