NEW DELHI: In a video gone viral on the internet, Vishwa Bandhu Gupta, a former additional commissioner of income-tax, makes it clear that he thinks cloud computing is about real clouds and how data can be lost if the cloud bursts into rain.

Gupta, now a vigorous anti-corruption campaigner, says, "Aaj poora technical system cloud system par aa gaya hai... jo aaj aap Google istemaal karte hain... cloud system pe aa gaya hai... Abhi tak yeh study nahin ki gayi hai jab andhad aata hai tab kya hoga... kisi garib ki UID banate waqt... cloud formatting galat aati hai... baarish aa gayi toh records galat aayenge aur woh garib aadmi arrest ho jayega..." After the deluge of corruption and inefficiency charges, it is the unexpected bout of rain that is giving Commonwealth Games organisers nightmares. Special pujas are being held to pray for a "fair-weather" event!

"We are praying to the rain gods to stop pouring in Delhi," said a worried member of the organising committee.

The continuing heavy downpour in Delhi has further delayed preparatory works for the Oct 3-14 event. The organising committee reportedly used the heavy rains to justify the delay when Commonwealth Games Federation president Mike Fennel met them. As the threat of drought looms large over Andhra Pradesh state of India, a unique three-day 'Maha Varuna Yagam' under the auspices of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) began here to propitiate the rain god.

The state government and TTD authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the event by erecting 108 'homagundams' or small platforms formed with bricks for holy fire.

The 'Maha Varunayagam', is attended by over 5,000 people. Over 150 priests from the famous Hindu temple of Lord Venkateshwara began the rituals amidst singing of Vedic hymns. Read more.........................Unique ritual in Hyderabad to propitiate rain god

When Fishes rained from the Sky

Fishes raining from the Sky!!!!!!!!!!!!! It may seem weird but if a report from sify.com is to be believed then it actually happened at Kandanassery village in Kerala state of India. As per the report:

"Residents of Kandanassery village near here were quite surprised when small fish started raining down towards the end of a sudden downpour on Monday night.

The phenomenon was first noticed by two persons when the little slimy things started pattering on their body while they were returning home late in the night.

As they thought that people would reject this as a mere fantasy or concocted tale unless there was a tangible proof, they picked up some of the bubbling fish and kept them in a water-filled bucket near the village library.

Sivaraman, who first sighted the rare phenomenon, said he also saw some fish crushed by vehicles that drove on the road when it was raining."

Isn't it strange that an economy which is rising at 9-10 % per annum is unable to control the basic thing as rains in its major cities. Here are few pictures of the India's metropolitan cities, Mumbai & Kolkata which have been devastated by Monsoon Rains over there this year.

It's high time Indian Government takes some emergency measures to control the devastation caused by the rains in India.

Below is a picture of an Indian hand rickshaw puller who is pushing his rickshaw through the waters after a heavy downpour in Calcutta / Kolkata city in West Bengal state of India. There is another picture of a Taxi submerged in the Mumbai city in India. Other pictures are also from India where heavy rains have created havoc.
