Upset over bribe demand, man dumps snakes in revenue office

BASTI (UP): Frustrated over alleged delay in allotment of land and demands for bribe, a snake charmer let loose over a dozen snakes inside a revenue department office here, triggering panic among staff.

The incident occurred yesterday when Hakkul, who alleged that revenue department staff were demanding bribe for allotment of land for snake conservation, dumped nearly 20 snakes inside the office of revenue inspector in Haraiyan, officials said. This man carried 43 snakes in car

A man has been arrested on suspicion of breaking wildlife laws after he was found with 43 snakes in his car, police in the Indian city of Jaipur have said.

A man conducted religious rites for the salvation of his parents' souls in the presence of two snakes in Bihar's Gaya town after his neighbour dreamt that the snakes were his parents.

Suresh Singh, a resident of Jhansi in Madhya Pradesh, and his neighbour Devaki offered 'Pindadan' (salvation rituals) with a male and female snake in tow at the Dev Ghat in Gaya, about 100 km from Patna, said Sanjay Lal, a Hindu priest, who conducted the rituals for them. Fashion show organiser uses Snakes on ramp

Ranchi (Jharkhand): Shabir Hussain, organiser of a fashion show in which models walked the ramp after wrapping snakes around their neck, has been sent by a court Tuesday to 14 days judicial custody, as per the police.

Models walked the ramp Saturday at the Rotary Club in Ranchi, displaying cobras and other snakes in their hand with its body wrapped around their neck. Poisonous Snakes out on roads

Due to heavy rains in Maharashtra State of India, Poisonous snakes came out on the roads in Nasik city in the state. Due to heavy rains across the region their natural shelter was inundated, as per one Sahara Samay report.

Lightning and rains have claimed 91 lives in Nasik revenue division, comprising five districts of Nasik, Jalgaon, Dhule, Nandurbar and Ahmednagar.

While Nasik recorded 30 deaths, 19 deaths were reported from Dhule, 15 in Jalgaon, 16 Ahmednagar and 11 in Nandurbar, between June 1 to June 25, according to the official sources.

Of the 91 deaths, 81 occurred due to lightning, four washed away in flood water, four in house collapse and two natural deaths, the sources added.

Man Eats Live Snakes

Here is Sutari Nayak, of Badabudhapanka village in Angul district in Orissa state of India & this man has a strange & weird taste, he eats live snakes and has never developed health disorders due to his diet. As per one Zee News report this the 36-year-old Sutari says he eats snakes “for fun”. “I developed a special liking for snakes 16 years ago. I love to live with them,”.

He also performs stunts with the snakes and earns some money by showing how they obey his orders.


Though his family - comprising three children and his wife - ask him not to resort to such dangerous stunts, Nayak has not given up. Because of his habits, family members have virtually abandoned him.

The villagers of Badabudhapanka claim he has developed immunity against snakebites and never feels sick after eating the raw reptilian flesh.

Boy fond of eating Snakes, Lizards, Frogs, Scorpions etc. etc.

Eating habits of this boy are really weird. He is fond of eating snakes, lizards, frogs, scorpions and others insects. Yes here is Pankaj Kumar Singh, aged 12 years from Bolaidih village of Sarikela, Kharsawa district in Jharkhand state of India, who has an unusual taste for reptiles.

Boy's appetite for all such creatures is so strong that his parents have tied him up with chains to prevent him from eating all such reptiles.

'We keep him tied to prevent him from eating reptiles. We also fear that his bite may hurt someone because he likes to eat poisonous reptiles,' said Pankaj's mother, Saroj Devi.

'When Pankaj was two years old, I spotted him eating a frog. He ate the frog's bodies and threw away their legs,' she said.

Saroj Devi said her son, who does not speak clearly, has a strange affinity for animals.

'The entire village was terrified of a monkey once, but Pankaj killed it easily,' a newspaper report quotes her as saying.

Brother Dheeraj, 16, added: 'Once Pankaj even devoured a chameleon.'

Man eats live Snakes, finds them delicious

In India weird news keep coming every now & then. Earlier a man biting dog made news & now comes a news that here's a man in India who eats - not dogs, but live snakes!!!! How weird????

Meet weird young man Shyam Atulkar, a 24-year-old who catches snakes, and even eats them live at times. He hails from a village Simjera of Betul district of Madhya Pradesh state in India.

Last week, some people in the Ajni railway quarters here came rushing to Shyam and took him away to a house nearby where a big snake had slithered inside a pit. Shyam went to catch the snake and returned soon after with a seven-feet rat snake twined around his neck.

His newly married sister-in-law Arti had wanted to see Shyam catch a reptile. 'My husband had once told me about his brother's prowess but I was curious to see Shyam holding a reptile in his hands,' Arti said.

Prodded by onlookers, Shyam also started gobbling up the reptile but soon relinquished the feast in deference to an elderly man's advice. 'I liked the taste of snakes, especially the tail-end, which tastes like raw mutton,' he said. 'The head and neck tastes somewhat bitter because of the poison.'

Shyam claims to have also preyed upon all types of lizards 'including the wild, black variety that is more poisonous than snakes', he claims. 'Once I also bit a ferocious dog that had gone on a biting spree in our locality in Junnardeo,' he recalled. The dog, like all his reptile victims, died instantly.
