Parents leave 11 years old abandoned in Goa airport with Rs 500

He dreamt of flying to Dubai but 11-year-old Sameer Bagoda's parents abandoned him at the airport here, gave him Rs.500 and told him to head back to his hometown of Satara in neighbouring Maharashtra. Sameer was found abandoned at Goa's only international airport at Dabolim, 40 km from capital Panaji, sobbing and anxious to see his parents again, earlier this week. Panaji: White ants ‘ate’ 24 kg charas (cannabis) from the official godown, the state prosecution department told the Panaji bench of the Bombay High Court, while opposing the bail of several Goa policemen charged with links to the narcotics mafia.
This was stated by the state prosecution to the court earlier this week.

Cops dump beggar on garbage heap

In a shocking incident, a handicapped beggar has alleged that a Goa Police patrol car had dumped him on a garbage heap, leaving him to die.

PANAJI: 25-year-old Ali Khan, a Bangladeshi national has been arrested for overstaying, who is virtually living at the foreigner’s registration office (FRO) in Panaji in India. With no place to go and awaiting permission from the ministry of external affairs, Khan can’t be sent to jail as he has already served the seven-month term for overstaying without valid documents.
