Man in Chains for 26 years

In India people give respect to their elders but what would you say to a story in which a 56-year-old man in Orissa State of India is in chains for 26 years & all due to his family, as family members believe that he is mad man and is a danger to other people.

So Here is Mr. Ananta Charana Dash , who is a father of three children & lives in the village of Hanumantapala in Kendrapada district which is about 120km (75 miles) east of the state capital, Bhubaneswar in Orissa State of India. This Mr. Ananta Charana Dash in picture is in chains for the last 26 years.

Can anyone imagining living for 26 years without able to move & go around. It's just Inhumane to keep any person in chains & that too for 26 years.
