Boy fell into 216-feet-deep Bore well, died

'Kalu Singh', a boy of Baramadkheda village in Ujjain District in Madhya Pradesh state of India got trapped on Saturday in a 216-feet-deep open bore well & died on Sunday despite efforts by the district administration of Ujjain-Ratlam to save him. A parallel trench was dug by the authorities to save the boy, but the efforts proved futile. Kalu had slipped inside the bore well while playing near it. On hearing his screams, his mother raised an alarm, after which people gathered to save the child.

Earlier, in a similar incident in Haryana State of India, a small child 'Prince' had fallen into a similar Bore well but was rescued by the armed forces with the help of villagers. In that case also a parallel trench was dug to save the 'Prince'
