$11 Fine For Pigeons Feeding

Want to be generous with pigeons, Wanna feed them, No, No, you are not allowed!!!!! This is what Civic officials have told to the citizens of Mumbai in India. These officials have started doing fines of Indian Rupees 500 ($11) on people who are caught feeding pigeons in Mumbai's posh Marine Drive area which overlooks the Arabian Sea over here. As per the officials it is being done to keep their Mumbai / Bombay city clean and free of diseases.

Generally tourists & locals feed corn to the pigeons & now as per officials, scattering corn for pigeons is punishable by law & people should refrain from doing so. As per officials, Pigeons do carry diseases also and spread filth all around the area. As per locals, Pigeon droppings do also cause lung problems & create big problem for the asthma patients, so people have backed this ban.
