A human rights campaigner in India has criticised the award of a government job to a woman who cut off part of her tongue "to honour" a politician.
SV Raja Durai said the decision to give K Sarita a job preparing meals in schools would encourage copycat acts.

NAVIPET (NIZAMABAD): Poverty has forced a 24-year-old youth to turn himself into a woman in the district. The youth, a native of Vaddera Colony in the mandal, underwent a sex change operation in Mumbai and returned home recently.

The 'honour' and status of being known as the man who executed the most notorious terrorist in India's history, the Mumbai attacker Ajmal Amir Kasab, has attracted a rush of new applicants for the job as hangman.
