Is 'Kalpana Chawla' Reborn in India?
In India stories of reincarnation are very common. Every now & then we find small Childs in India claiming to remember their past lives, in which they tell exact details of their previous life. But is this story of a 4 yr old from India claiming to be the reincarnation of Kalpana Chawla true? The great India born astronaut "Kalpana Chawla" worked with NASA in United States of America & died on February 1, 2003 as the Columbia space shuttle on which she was returning to earth after a space mission, disintegrated 16 minutes prior to landing on earth.
Here is "Upasana", a 4 yr old Girl from Bulandshahar in Uttar Pradesh state in northern India. As per one IBN7 - TV report in India today, "Upasana", the little girl claims to be the reincarnation of "Kalpana Chawla".
"Upasana" was born on 23rd March 2003, while "Kalpana Chawla" died on Ist Feb. 2003. "Upasana" claims to be the reincarnation of "Kalpana Chawla". As per "Upasana", she is afraid of planes & claims that she died in the air, in an air crash. She has told Kalpana's father's name too & as per her claim she also knows about the Professors & Mentors of "Kalpana Chawla".
As per Upasana's father Raj Kumar,"Upasana has been telling us ever since she started speaking that her name was Kalpana Chawla and that her father's name was Banarsi Das Chawla but we could not figure out anything as we had never heard of Kalpana".
Now how true is the reincarnation claim of the "Upasana", the little girl as "Kalpana chawla", is debatable. Viewers comments are invited on this.

Really interesting. I just checked rediff news and goggled to see if it is a reality or just a faked up story?
I don't really know if one should believe in such stories or not. I had a friend who had a baby girl in the similar situation. She started talking early and used to ask for her previous home and family. Later did my friend found out that same family existed in some other part of the world and was the case of actual reincarnation.
But, the only question just keep coming back to my mind is, if there is re-incarnation, then why does the re-birth originate in India, and why does re-birth happen only in the same native land? Like in this case, she could have born in some other part of the globe, why India??
This story/fact should be considered seriously. Kaplana's parents and Upasana's meeting should be arranged and made some more confirmations that could be lead to NASA. If there's sureity of Upasana being Kalpana, the researchers could be able to get back into her memory and trace out what actually happened after the connection was lost between the Columbia and the NASA Center. More light could throen on the rest of the crew members. The Indian Government should take a leading step in finding out the truth of this reincarnation and play a helping leading role towards the wrold and NASA.

This story on "Kalpana Chawla" was shown in the evening of July 5,2007 on IBN7 Hindi news channel in India. A reporter from IBN7 - TV channel team was there with "Upasana", the 4 yr old Girl & her parents. A complete 30 minutes program was shown on IBN7 in which there were talks with "Upasana" & her parents, in which the little girl was giving all these details as posted in this blog post.

I wonder if anyone has considered a nine or ten month pregnancy between when Kalpana died and the the child was born. The reality is that reincarnation means re-incarnated, so it relates to bodies, and bodies develop after a nine or ten month pregnancy. Certainly there have been many cases where children do remember previous births, even names and faces and so on......small children are also well known for telling "little whoppers" too.
She wouldn't have known the word plane or professor unless she has read it some where. The source of these words has to be first studied. I don’t believe all aliens come to the US and all reincarnations take place in India .
Ive been reading about KCs reincarnation story as well as some of the comments posted on different sites with curiosity.While some have taken a balanced approach others have blissfully laughed if off as an indian weirdness(the kind of bliss that stems from ignorance)and some even being ashamed of being indians(hello!)and some pathetic enough to worry what others will think of indians who spoke of the R word.Who says reincarnation is reported only in India?True,The concept of reincarnation has been in this country for thousands of years as also in other ancient civilizations,but today and in the last 150yrs or so there have been psychiatrists in the west who have observed this phenomenon and are now using past life regression therapy to cure many patients of chronic illnesses.true,there are people who think it is not scientific enough but then most peole are very uneasy when it comes to matters of death.The point is every one of those undergoing treatment has had a recovery after going through the therapy.Nobodys been able give a "scientific" explanation to these recoveries but they have shown that past life exists.its a realm that cannot be explained by logic and reasoning alone and nature doesnt follow human logic.And there r enough mysteries in the universe that science cant explain,and science hasnt always been right.The last century has seen physics take a giant leap in perspective from deterministic classical newtonian mechanics to an indetermistic perspective of quantum physics which also dabbles with the nature of the mind of the observer.why are we afraid to look forward and find out more about what we see?And why does reincarnation have to have religious connotation?we need to be open minded and conduct studies and research into this before passing callous comments which at best come from ones ignorance.
Yes there are such re-incarnations. I saw a similar episode on Discovery channel yrs ago about a young boy who claimed to be a famous football player i suppose.I dont remember this players name but the channel arranged a meeting and got some of his childhood group photos and asked him to recognise where he is and such stuff. He was accurate. Even this players sister was sent into the room where he was seated all alone and as soon as she entered he called her by her name.they spoke about their childhood.He even shared some experiences which only they both knew.That lady was in tears.It was really amazing.I think someone too should arrange such sort of meetings u know so that we can know what happened on that fateful day.
In reply to the 9 month pregnancy comment, it is believed that the soul of a person only enters the foetus during the later months (7th I think but certainly not from the 1st month).
Reincarnation is an intergral part of the Hinduism way of life. I think people/scientist should study it objectively instead of just dismissing it simply because it doesn't correlate with the western ideology (which has been proven wrong in many instances)

In my show on INDIA TV I have already explained "Yes" Its true that Soul take birth as per their preference and for a particular experience.
In my therapy and research practice of last around 20 years, I even found many soul-groups are taking birth together with role exchanged to experience expansion of emotions and feeling.
Many soulsmind complex do not go back to the original/other plane and get stuck up/or prefer to be in the plane to rebirth very soon 0-3 years, it depends upon many factors.
Yes Adity these days it is more common in accedental cases/ murders/un natural death circumstances to either reincarnate to complete the experience or to help such souls as guide of soul transportation (Guiding such souls to masters)in the extra human world of existance.

(I am a hindu..so dont try to find holes in quran or bible just for the sake of argument) geetha says tht he made humans.. of different kinds.. namely shathryas.. nd I dont remembr the other divisions.. but yeah.. the "god" which geetha talks abt is a racist god.. nd I really am not comfrtable with racism..
Hi @ Madhu, God is not racist. He specified classes basing on the behavior/nature of the human being. For example, if a person by birth a brahmin, but behaving as a sudra, then that person even though born as brahmin is no more considered as a brahmin. and a sudra following the rules of a brahmin in his way of living,he is promoted to be a brahmin. This is Nature's law and this is what Bhagavad gita says. Dont read Bhagavad gita by yourself and please do not self speculate. It is the song of the God.You should hear it from a bonafied spiritual master. Do not unnecessarily talk what evr it comes to your mind
