Here is one couple from Kot Patiala village of Una district in Himachal Pradesh state of India, who is enjoying marital bliss for 84 years & could enter the Guinness Book of Records as the longest surviving married couple in the world.

As per Bishambhar Rana, the son of 103 year-old Pyara Singh and 101 year-old Hansa Devi, he had sent the relevant details of his parents to the record keeper's office last month for entering their name as the longest surviving married couple.

"Accepting the application, they have sent me a form in this regard," he said. After verifying the facts, Guinness would add the couple in their record list, he claimed.

Born on January 5, 1904, Singh, an army pensioner for the past 65 years, married Hansa on May 23, 1924 in Kot Patiala village of Una district in Himachal Pradesh.

The elderly couple has three sons and two daughters.

Singh, who joined the army in 1930, fought in the Second World War as part of the British Indian Army.

And the secret of the couple's long life -- disciplined living, controlled diet and honesty, revealed Singh.
