On Valentine's Day some Hard line Hindu groups had requested young couples not to visit parks with their Valentine & this time they lived up to it too. The loving couple from Vijayawada in South India would never have imagined that their outing on Valentine's Day in a Park shall enter for their wedlock in a few minutes.

Yes it happened with 23-year-old Vijay and 19-year-old Durga who set out for an outing in the Rajiv Gandhi Park in the city on Wednesday evening.

Vijay, an autorickshaw driver from Bhavanipuram, was sitting pretty with his ladylove and enjoying the snacks when a band of Bajrang Dal activists(Protesters) came to the park & started raising slogans against the practice of celebrating the Valentine's Day.

The activists, who were equipped with the basic material required for performing a marriage, such as a `mangalasutram' of only yellow thread and without the usual gold, some 'kumkum' and 'akshintalu' ( things used for a Hindu wedding), insisted that the boy tie the knot around the girl's neck if their love was true. The bashful couple had little choice but to heed to their advice, and the activists presided over their 'instant' marriage. The hunt continued as activists moved on to a nearby park to perform more 'marriages'.
