Runaway brides

In capital of India, New Delhi, a bride came to the venue of her wedding in a car, she got down from the car & sat in another car parked across the road & ran away, as she didn't wanted to marry with the boy her parents has chosen. In another case a girl of a rich businessman ran away with her lover when family went to a temple to offer prayers. There are 114 such reported cases of girls running away with their lovers in New Delhi alone this year & many such cases had gone unreported too as families did not disclose all such incidents due to embarrassment & social stigma that shall be there with them, whole of their life by disclosing such incidents in the family.

Main reason for all such elopement is that parents force their daughters to marry someone, she doesn't like. Family fails to understand that girl has the right to choose the person whom she wants to be with, whole of her life. Now a days, girls are more assertive about what they want. In earlier times in India, it was just unthinkable, but now girls marry only that person, whom they want to marry, as per their own choice.
