In India there are auspicious days when thousands of people wed on a particular day, as it happened on 13th December,2006 when 36,000 couples married in New-Delhi, the capital of India only. But what shall you say to a wedding of two Elephants, yes the marriage of two elephants that happened in Kerala.

To promote a beach resort in southern India, two elephants were dressed up as bride and groom for a mock-wedding ceremony to entertain the guests at a beach resort in Kovalam in Kerala state of India. Raju the name given to Groom was a 12-year-old elephant, while Rani, the name given to his bride was two years younger than the male counterpart. Both bride & groom elephants were wearing gold head-dresses for the hour-long ceremony, while temple music was playing in the background & fireworks were also there during the marriage ceremony.

Many of the foreign tourists enjoyed the occasion & around 180 foreign tourists attended the event.
