When Ghosts carried away the Groom

Here is the story of a man, "Tekeshwar Sahu" who vanished soon after his marriage ceremony to Manisha in village Nimora, 25 km from Raipur in Chattisgarh state of India. There was feasting and music with a live band arranged by the bride's father Arjun Singh.

'Everyone has his or her reason for the incident. Free-for-all fight between the bride and bridegroom's relatives

It was a free-for-all fight between the bride and bridegroom's sides with the latter being beaten and chased by the bride's relatives after the bridegroom's family asked for a car as dowry. Incident happenned in a village near Tanda town in Punjab's Hoshiarpur district.

Relatives of the bride, Jaswinder Kaur, had decided to call off the wedding before the ceremony began but not before teaching a lesson to the family of groom Gurvinder Singh, an army solider. On Tuesday, when the groom's wedding party arrived at the venue of the wedding near Miani village, about 200 km from Chandigarh, the bride's party started raising slogans against them for demanding dowry. Even Jaswinder, dressed in her bridal finery, joined her relatives in sloganeering.

The groom's party tried to flee from the spot but were chased by village youths. Though the groom managed to escape in one vehicle, the bride's side caught his mother and some other relatives and they were given a sound thrashing.

The groom's mother was forced to bow before the bride and seek her forgiveness by touching her feet repeatedly.
