Cobbler contesting elections for the 15 time

Here is 64-year-old cobbler Om Parkash Jakhu from Hoshiarpur in Punjab State of India, who has contested 14 Elections in Punjab without any success and is in the fray for the upcoming State Assembly Polls. His motto seems to be, 'Try Try again till you succeed'.

Jakhu, who mends shoes at a kiosk near the Clock Tower here, has contested two Elections to the Municipal Council, six to the Assembly, three to the Lok Sabha, two for the post village sarpanch and one for the post of panch.
