MUMBAI: A city school allegedly meted out corporal punishment, straight from the Middle Ages, to a 12-year-old girl for coming to school with mehndi on her hands.
Tinha Kausar, a Class VII student at Little Angels High School, Sion, who had applied mehndi on the occasion of Eid, has accused the school of making her sit outside the principal’s office on the cold stone floor facing a toilet for over six hours, for breaking school rules that prohibit jewellery and mehndi.
