Drug peddlers from Madhya Pradesh's opium belt of Neemuch and Mandsaur flock to the temple of Sanwariaji in Rajasthan — believed to be an avatar of Lord Krishna — before they dispatch their consignments. All roads from these two biggest opium-producing districts of Madhya Pradesh lead to Bhadeshar tehsil in Rajasthan's Chhittorgarh — 65 km from Neemuch district headquarters. Gujarat govt offers free opium to addicts

SURAT: Ironical as it may sound, 600 drug addicts in Surat will be offered supplements of cocaine and heroin free by the state government on Thursday. This is part of a unique experiment being initiated in the diamond city where opium content will be provided in tablet form to keep the addicts on a high and prevent them from exposing them to sustained high risk of contracting HIV virus through use of unsafe needles and syringes! Opium Served at Indian National Party 'BJP' Luncheon

BJP is the Oppostion Party in Indian Parliamnet. As per media reports, it is alleged that in a special lunch thrown by Jaswant Singh (BJP leader) for BJP dissidents in Barmer in Rajasthan state of India, opium was served.

The Vasundhara Raje government is studiously silent but the congress has demanded an enquiry into this opium row.

Opium was served in Kesar Milk which is a welcoming tradition in this part of the state.
