LUCKNOW: Imagine a young bride and her groom performing the marriage rituals in a floating mandap some 100 feet above the ground! If you find it hard to imagine, then watch it happen live before your eyes on February 26 in Lucknow when an adventurous young couple will tie the knot in a hot air balloon with a pandit reciting hymns and couplets from the religious scriptures. Marriages are made in heaven - one wedding in Pune city in Maharashtra state of India came pretty close.

Pune adventure sports enthusiast Shital Mahajan got married to Vaibhav Rane, working as a software engineer with Nokia, around 600 feet above the earth in a hot air balloon.

Indian Wedding in 'Hot air balloon'

We have all seen marriages happening in temples, churches etc. but have you ever heard someone wedding in hot air balloon. Yes, soon Jaipur city in Rajasthan state of India shall witness India’s first such wedding in a hot air balloon. Balloon at the time of marriage shall be 100ft above the ground & at that height a priest shall be performing the traditional rituals like speaking holy marriage mantras etc.

Marriage shall happen on December 29 or 30. A Mumbai-based Entertainment 7 group is organizing it & the names of the couple have been kept a secret to generate more excitement. Hot air balloon for the wedding shall be lifted with traditional music while all the rituals of an Indian wedding shall be performed.
