JAJPUR: Booze flowed free for over 100 villagers, including women, who partied hard after a truck carrying foreign liquor overturned on NH-5 in Jajpur district.

Most of the villagers, who are daily labourers, had not tasted foreign liquor and the orgy left them intoxicated. While several people skipped work the next day to sleep it off, as many as 10 villagers were admitted to a hospital after suffering severe hangovers. They were discharged after preliminary treatment. As per one Aaj Tak TV channel report, a 55 years old man Preet Pal Singh got injured & later died in a road accident in New Delhi . On seeing Preet Pal Singh injured on the road side, a youth Gurpreet Singh came to his side & took away his Credit Card & Indian Rs. 800/- ( US$ 20) from his pocket & left him to die on the road. Later on Gurpreet went to a shopping mall & did purchasing worth Indian Rs. 25,000/- (US$ 625) on Preet Pal Singh's Credit Card. Today police was able to catch Gurpreet for his misdeed. The incident happened on 30th July & Preet Pal died in hospital the next day in New Delhi.

Isn't it weird that instead of helping the injured on the road side, Gurpreet preferred to take away his Credit Card & money!!!!

It happens only in India. Here in India, its a classic example which has been quite a regular phenomenon over here, where people with big money & power mows down people sleeping on pavements & get away with little or no sentence.

Allister Pereira, a 21-year-old son of a Mumbai businessman who was charged with running his car over seven people sleeping on a Mumbai pavement in suburban Bandra last year, was sentenced to six months imprisonment and fined Indian Rs 500,000 (US$ 11,630) for running over seven people who died due to accident.

Around 3-4 years back son of a arms broker also mowed down around 10 people by his car and sometime back film actor Salman Khan was also involved in similar accident who is still moving around freely & living happily without any harm.

On November 12, 2006, Pereira lost control of his Toyota Corolla while returning from a party in Bandra and ran over seven people sleeping on a pavement near Carter Road Promenade. Eight others were injured in the incident.

He was allegedly to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time.

Court says Elephants are equal to Human beings

Subscribe to Weird India Subscribe to Weird India in MY YAHOO! Subscribe to Weird India in MY GOOGLE! Subscribe to Weird India in MY MSN! Subscribe to Weird India in MY AOL! Subscribe to Weird India in Rojo!
If a person dies in an accident on the road, that person is entitled to get claim money from the Insurance Company, who has done the insurance of the vehicle by which that person is hit. But what if the same claim amount is given when an elephant dies in an accident. In a historical judgment, the Rajasthan High Court in India has ordered the New India Assurance Company to pay a sum of Indian Rupees 599,440 ( US $ 13,320 ) to the owner of the elephant. In the judgment, court has equated the elephants in the same category as that of human beings.

Earlier, New India Insurance Company had suggested to give Indian Rupees 2,000 ( US $ 45 ) only for the dead animal. Now after the judgment, New India Assurance Company, which had done the insurance of the jeep by which elephant was hit has to pay the sum of Indian Rupees 599,440 ( US $ 13,320 ) to the owner.

Now what shall be the equality of a dog to the human being, as hundreds of dogs are also killed by the vehicles on the Indian highways. May be, as these are stray dogs, there is nobody to put the claim, but what if someone's pet dog is killed on the road & then, in what proportion pet dog shall be equal to the human being!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May be one day such case too shall come to the court & court has to ponder over that question..............
