Sirkazhi (Tamil Nadu), A 17-year-old boy killed his father on Sunday after the latter reprimanded him for performing poorly in the examinations. The shocking incident occurred at Sirkazhi, located about 250 km from Chennai, in Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu.

The ‘Talibani’ village panchayats in Uttar Pradesh are getting bolder by the day and issuing ludicrous diktats in the name of dealing with ‘social ills’.
In the latest ‘fatwa’, the panchayat of Ghatampur village in Saharanpur district has decreed that any youth — male or female — spotted listening to music on the mobile phone would be hit with a shoe five times and will also have to pay a fine of `1,500 to the panchayat. Indore: A team of doctors today removed about 1.8 kg of hair from the stomach of a 19-year old girl after an open surgery at a government hospital.
Dr Parvinder Singh Lubana of Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital led a team of gastro-surgeons in conducting the operation.

NEW DELHI: 'God save the villagers' was the Supreme Court's comment when it found that a rural bank incurred a litigation cost of nearly Rs 30,000 by dragging a poor farmer, who had availed a loan to buy a buffalo, from the district forum till the highest court of the land.

Bangalore: A Karnataka High Court Judge is under fire after he said that it was okay for a man to indulge in domestic violence and beat his wife as long as he was taking good care of his wife.

Allahabad: A policeman has been caught on camera riding his motorbike on the chest of a vegetable vendor in Allahabad as other policemen and bystanders stood and watched.
The incident took place on August 18 outside the Rambagh railway station. The vendor, Rohit Kesarwani, claims that the constable had asked him to move his cart and demanded a bribe.
