Monkeys unite MPs on ‘9 to 5’ job for Langur

New Delhi: It’s a cause that seems to have united Members of Parliament across party lines on Mahadev Road. Till a month back, there was no peace for the nearly 20 MPs residing there. Monkeys of all sizes moved in batches in their bungalows, destroying their kitchen gardens, bathing in their water tanks and walking away with their clothes and eatables. When even enjoying a cup of tea on their manicured lawns became a luxury they could not afford, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar wrote to the six MPs residing in houses adjoining his residence — 24, Mahadev Road — to pool in money to hire the services of a langur.
