Couple forced to become siblings
A love-struck couple was repeatedly hit with shoes for their "illegitimate" love affair and then forced to tie a Rakhi and become "brother and sister" in a village in Uttar Pradesh.
The village panchayat forced this upon them on Wednesday evening, police said. The incident occurred in Kukra village in Bijnor district, about 350 km from here.
