Panic due to ‘Doomsday’ Rumours

In India many people due to ‘Doomsday’ Rumors headed straight for temples, which recorded an unusually high turnout, while others sat at home and waited for the end instead of going to work. Some others rushed to restaurants to have their hearts fill of their favourite dishes.

All these rumors spread soon after TV channels reported the European underground experiment to recreate conditions that existed immediately after the Big Bang.

In another incident a 16-year-old girl in Madhya Pradesh state of India allegedly committed suicide after watching news about the possibility of the end of earth, following the atom-smasher experiment in Geneva that began on Wednesday.

Anyway all these rumors have come to be unfounded as the experiment has already started at Geneva & nothing unusual has happened. It's high time our media learns some lessons from this & use their authority to broadcast such weird reports with responsibility.
