In India in a bid to enter the "Limca Book of Records", people are doing all sort of things, some sing incessantly for "n" numbers of hrs, while some do other feats. But here is a woman lawyer who tried to make a record by applying Mehndi / Heena to 229 hands non-stop in 12 hours.

The 35-year-old Mona Raju from Salem in Tamil Nadu state of India who is practicing in the city courts, undertook the exercise from 7.30 am yesterday in the presence of a large gathering at the Gujarati Samaj premises.

Salem Mayor Rekha Priyadarshini was among the women who offered their hands for applying mehndi. The Mayor got it done only on one hand.

Arthi of Limca Book of Records, who was present on the occasion, said Mona in fact wanted to go for a 24-hour long effort but she was advised to limit it to 12 hours as the existing record was 80 hands in six hours only.
