Buffaloes to walk the ramp in India

Chandigarh, Touted as the first of its kind in the world, a pageant will be held in Haryana’s Jind town Wednesday where a popular breed of buffaloes will walk a special ramp.

Buffaloes paraded during beauty pageant

Fashion shows and Beauty pageants are being organized in India every now & then. It has been a by product of Globalization in India. It has ushered in a host of new trends, some of which are widely welcomed in the society.

Is sashaying on the ramp a mode of celebration of beauty? There are people who beg to differ. The detractors organized a parallel beauty pageant on the eve of the Miss Kerala contest in the Kochi city in south India. The organizers paraded several buffaloes before the public and crowned the "most beautiful" beast. Of course, there were no special prizes for beautiful skin or teeth.
