Pune: Datta Phuge has a new shirt. It's made of gold. The 32-year-old politician wants a ticket to contest Lok Sabha elections next year, and reckons that the 3.5 kg, Rs. 1.25 crore shirt will help get him easy attention.
The trick has worked so far. Mr Phuge, who belongs to Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party, has grabbed prime time space on many Marathi television channels. AHMEDABAD: A family from Valsad was served a revolting dish of 'rat biryani' from the pantry of the Sarvodaya Express while returning home from a pilgrimage to the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu & Kashmir.
Teacher Nilesh Patel and his wife Veena had ordered three vegetarian biryanis — one to be shared between their two sons. A businessman in India's Bihar state has lodged a complaint with the police saying that a stray dog has run away with his bag containing 400,000 rupees ($7,424; £4,656).

Bhopal: A non-government organisation (NGO) based in Madhya Pradesh, tasked with the welfare of minor girls, has been accused of sending the girls – most of them disabled and mentally weak – to boys hostel as “punishment”.
