Cataract operations for dogs and cats? Well, it is nothing new but doctors in Madurai say it is fast catching up in this ancient Tamil city which is known for its eye care facilities.

S Jagannathan, a city doctor, was worried about his 13-year-old pet dog, Tommy, which was stumbling frequently while walking. His vet advised him to get Tommy operated for cataract, which in Madurai has become very common these days.

Veterinary surgeon, Dr Pothy, a retired Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry department, sought the help of G Bhaskararajan, a leading ophthalmologist in the city who operated on Tommy and fixed an intra ocular lens. Read more..........................Cataract operations for dogs and cats
