Ahmedabad: The Gujarat hotel federation has decided to extend its support for the owner of the Mumbai eatery, Aditi Restaurant, which was targetted by Congress workers earlier this week for criticising the UPA government's policy in its food bill receipts. The receipts had the following words printed on them: "As per UPA govt eating money (2G, coal, CWG scam) is a necessity and eating food in AC restaurants is a luxury". Indore: The reports of colleges banning revealing clothes fro girls is not new. The latest college to bar girls from wearing sleeveless tops, is Institute of Management Studies (IMS), Indore that has reportedly banned wearing of sleeveless and double meaning slogan T-shirts at college premises.

According to a news agency, the HOD of the institute issued a notice saying that 'girls cannot enter in campus while wearing sleeveless and double meaning written tops'.

Bhubaneswar: A man believed to have been murdered sprang a surprise when he walked back home in Odisha.

Police had arrested six of his friends for the presumed crime, inspector in-charge of Deogarh police station Khira Sindhu Nayak said Friday.

Dibya Lochan Gadtia (19) went missing July 8. He was studying civil engineering at a private institute in Bhubanesar.

His father Jasodhar of Vijaynagar village in Deogarh district, 300 km from Bhubaneswar, lodged a complaint with the police July 12, Nayak told IANS.

Jasodhar told police that his son might have been murdered by six of his friends with whom he was last seen. Police registered a case and launched an investigation. Read more.........'Murdered’ man returns home in India

141-year-old Feroz-un-Din Mir from Kashmir in India claims to be the oldest living person alive in world

Feroz-un-Din Mir from Bihjama village in Kashmir's Uri district has claimed to the the oldest person alive in the world.

Mir says that he has a government certificate proving that he was born on March 10, 1872. If we go according to this certificate, the 141-year-old Mir will become 26-year elder than Misao Okawa, the 115-year-old current record holder.

Bundi: Police escorted the marriage procession of a 24-year-old Dalit bridegroom, who was allegedly not allowed to ride on horseback by Gujjar community members in Barwas village.

According to the police, bridegroom Ramesh, belonging to Meghwal community which is categorized under Scheduled Caste, was supposed to wed in Deoli town of Tonk district yesterday.

ALWAR: Suspecting his wife of having an affair, a man bit off her nose and ears and then beat her up in Alwar'sBhiwadi on Thursday night. After registering a case in the matter, police lodged an FIR and arrested the accused. Police said they have recovered the ears, while the nose was stitched back by doctors.

The incident took place in Nangaliya village near Bhiwadi on Thursday night. "The 25-year-old woman who lived with her husband Mohan Lal, a resident of UP's Bareilly district, rushed out of her house screaming for help on Thursday night. It drew attention of the neighbours. Hajipur: Armed criminals on Tuesday exploded two bombs inside the civil court premises to free a dacoit, who had been brought to the court for production, police said.

As soon as the police van carrying the prisoners reached the civil court premises, two crude bombs exploded, Superintendent of Police Suresh Chaudhary said.

One live bomb was recovered from the spot, he said.

Ballia :In yet another shocking incident in UP, a rickshaw puller turns a 'doctor' as he injected a life-saving drug to a 7 month-old ailing baby. The baby, reportedly, died after that.

The government hospital authorities where the baby was being treated, however, denied that it was the same baby who died, but criticized the incident. This is the second incident of its kind in the state-run hospital, which has a track record of supplementing the lack of doctors and nurses by rickshaw pullers and sweepers. Panaji : Close on the heels of food poisoning incident that landed 86 school students at Goa in hospital, the self help groups continue to cook food in unhygienic condition.

Four teams of Food and Drugs Administration cracked down on 32 such premises on Saturday.

The pathetic scene was seen at four premises wherein cats and puppies reside in the kitchen.

Director Salim Veljee said establishments at Betalbatim, Majorda and Davorlim, situated in south Goa, had plenty defects.

Virudhunagar: High drama prevailed at a marriage function in Virudhunagar area of Tamil Nadu after the bridegroom's family allegedly objected to the bride wearing 'gilt' ornaments leading to fisticuffs between the two families and the ceremony being cancelled, police said today.

The bridegroom, who was injured, has been admitted to hospital, police said, adding that his mother, a BSNL employee, was today arrested on dowry charges.

Patna: A Bihar official, an accused in a disproportionate assets case, would gift his wife gold ornaments whenever he allegedly received a fat bribe, investigators said.

The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) team of Bihar Police was flummoxed when it recovered 230 pieces of gold earrings and tops during raids two days ago at the residence of Deputy Director of Secondary Education, Radha Krishna Singh Yadav.
